Design with Intention: Reflections on Leadership with Women in Design for Gender Equity
In 2023, I joined the leadership team of Women in Design for Gender Equity, a group rooted in the belief that design can be a catalyst for equity, access, and long-term systemic change.
Our focus wasn’t on visibility—it was on alignment. Throughout the year, we worked together to support organizations whose missions reflect our values: equity in education, mentorship, and opportunity for underrepresented communities across creative industries. Whether it was lending our platforms, organizing behind the scenes, or contributing to fundraising efforts, it was about showing up with intention.
The work reminded me that leadership isn’t always loud—it’s often quiet, consistent, and collaborative. Being part of a team that moves with integrity and care only deepened my commitment to purpose-driven design.
At Vivrancy, those values show up in everything we do—from storytelling and visual work to how we connect with our community. Being part of Women in Design for Gender Equity reinforced what we already believe: when design is led with purpose, it becomes a tool for empowerment.
